This man should love Christ’s church, have a calling and strong desire to keep His church spiritually fed, and be able to fulfill the pastoral role as described in 2 Timothy 4:2. Below are how we expect a pastor to practically fulfill his call in our church.

Requirements:

  • Must be a born-again believer, demonstrating a strong adherence to the Scriptures and the Gospel.
  • Must meet the biblical requirements for an elder as laid out in 1 Timothy 3.
  • Must be spiritually mature, exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit, showing a deep love for Christ, His Church, and the lost.
  • Lead by example in being an ardent evangelist.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and preach original sermons for weekly Sunday morning services and Wednesday evening prayer meetings.
  • Support small groups by preparing discussion questions and circulating among the groups in attendance.
  • Remain accessible by maintaining consistent office hours.
  • Ably and willingly counsel members on spiritual issues.
  • Regularly visit shut-ins and those hospitalized.
  • Maintain communication with church secretary and deacons.
  • Work with deacons to prepare and adhere to the annual church budget.
